BORDENTOWN CITY

ELECTIONS AND VOTER REGISTRATION

Voter Registration:          Requirements for voter registration for Bordentown City

1.     Must be at least 18 years or older at the time of the next ensuing election

2.     Must be a U.S. citizen

3.     Must be a resident of Bordentown City at least 30 days prior to any election

 

Deadline for Registering to Vote:

            Must register by the 21st day prior to any election to vote in that election.  You may register to vote after the deadline, but will be unable to vote in the election immediately forthcoming.

            Forms may be obtained from the Municipal Clerk’s Office located in City Hall (324 Farnsworth Avenue), Burlington County Board of Elections (Mt. Holly), Commissioner of Registration (Lumberton), Public Library.  You may click on this link to access the Voter Registration Form

Voting by Absentee Ballot:

            Any person, for the following reasons, may apply for an absentee ballot:

1.     Out of state on election day

2.     Illness or physical disability

3.     Resident attendance at a school, college or university

4.     Nature and hours of employment

5.     Observance of religious holiday pursuant to the tenets of his/her religion

Absentee ballot applications are available in the Municipal Clerk’s Office

at City Hall.

        Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the County Clerk:

1.          At least 7 days prior to the election if the absentee ballot is to be mailed to the voter; and

2.          By 3:00 PM on the day prior to the election IF the voter appears in person at the County Clerk’s Office.

3.          A voter who is permanently and totally disabled and who states the reason for such disability in a request for an absentee ballot, shall be furnished an application for an absentee ballot by the County Clerk for all future elections in which the voter shall be eligible to vote without further request on the part of the voter.

Once the absentee ballot application is received by the County Clerk, the County Clerk will then forward the actual absentee ballot to the voter.  The absentee ballot must be received by the County Board of Elections, by mail or delivery, no later than 8:00 PM on the day of the election in order to be counted.  You may click on this link to access the Absentee Ballot Application

YOU CAN ONLY VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
