STREETSCAPE AND PARKING PLAN, FY2021 TCDI GRANT: Under a grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, the City has partnered with Arterial to develop a Streetscape and Parking Plan to improve parking and connectivity throughout the city including bicycle and pedestrian travel. Following two public meetings and a comment review period, Arterial Design will present the City Commissioners with a plan for their review.

EAST UNION STREET RESURFACING PROJECT: The City has awarded a Contract for the Resurfacing of East Union Street using funds from the NJDOT Municipal Aid Trust Fund Grant. A draft design plan document is available for the resurfacing, curb repair and sidewalk replacement. Follow this link to view them online: E Union Street Resurfacing Project – Preliminary Design Work is slated to begin on or about October 10, 2022 and it is hoped that the project will be complete prior to the Annual Halloween Parade.

2022 FIRE HYDRANT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM: The City anticipates a 90-day contract with Lima Charlie Construction of Asbury Park, NJ with completion of the replacement program to be approximately October 20, 2022. Fire Hydrant Replacement List

2022 RE-PAINTING OF THE WATER TOWER, 266 Crosswicks Road: The City anticipates securing financing for the painting and necessary inspections and repairs for the Water Tower located in Bordentown Township. When the package has been advertised for bids, updates will be made here.

2022 WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM: The City is working with the NJIBank to secure the necessary funds to complete a water meter replacement program throughout the entire water system serving Bordentown Township and City. Newer and more efficient meters will be installed in homes and businesses in 2023; as the process is updated so will be customers of the Bordentown Water Utility.

2022 BORDENTOWN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT RENOVATIONS AND UPGRADES: The renovations and upgrades to the new headquarters for the Bordentown City Police Department bids were rejected by the City. One bid was received and the projected cost was above the amount budgeted by the City. The plans and specifications for the renovations will be reviewed and cost effective changes made and the project will be advertised for re-bid in the coming months. Once awarded, it is expected that completion of all renovations and upgrades to the new location at 101 E. Park Street will take approximately six (6) months.
