In case you missed last night’s Board of Commissioners meeting: We want to give a tremendous thanks to Senator Troy Singleton for securing a $250,000 state budget grant to help with critical infrastructure priorities at the new city administration building.
These funds will go a long way to reduce the burden on local taxpayers while supporting some of the crucial upgrades needed — including lighting and security — before we can start hosting meetings and events at the new city hall. Parking lot upgrades are also poised to begin soon as we continue working on plans for the gymnasium and eventual trails at historic Point Breeze.
Thank you to Senator Singleton, as well as the Governor and Legislature, for supporting this much-needed funding in the state budget.
