Employment Opportunities

Bordentown City Police Department is a civil service police department.  In order to be hired as a full time police officer in Bordentown City, you must first take the New Jersey Entry Level Law Enforcement Exaim.  A hiring list will be generated from the results of this test.  Candidates scoring highest will be at the top of this list, and will be contacted prior to candidates with lower scores.  Bordentown City residents will be given preference over non-residents.  Candidates who are not residents of Bordentown City will not be contacted unless the list of residents has been exhausted.

You may be eligible for an intergovernmental transfer if you are certified by the New Jersey Police Training Commission and are currently employed as a full time police officer in another New Jersey civil service police department.
