Several years ago, the City of Bordentown worked with a resident advisory committee and consultants to develop an asset management plan for our entire water system. This plan consisted of a complete inventory and analysis of the Bordentown Water Department system and recommendations for a multi-phase capital plan to systematically upgrade these crucial assets over the next ten years.

One particular system in need of upgrading is the individual water meters inside every home and commercial building. Using state funds, at no cost to the customer, the City is happy to report that it has selected a contractor to help remove and replace every meter in the City and Township.

As you can imagine, this will be a very big logistical project that requires extensive communication and cooperation. Over the coming weeks you can expect to receive letters from the contractor – Lenegan Plumbing and Heating LLC – containing detailed instructions on how to schedule your appointment for replacement of the water meter.

Prior to the scheduling of your appointment, please make sure your water meter is accessible. In addition to access, please ensure that your turn-off valve at the meter is operational.

If you wish to schedule your appointment now, please do so by calling 1-855-892-3830 or by visiting their website.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work towards improving the quality and efficiency of the water you rely on for your critical every day needs.
