The Planning/Zoning Board of the City of Bordentown meets monthly on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:00 PM. All meetings are held at the Carslake Community Center located at 207 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ. All public meetings are held in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order. Members of the public are able to follow along with the written Agenda to understand what is being discussed during the meeting. The Planning Board Chairperson will announce when the meeting becomes open to the public for comment. For all public meetings there is no sign in required and members of the public may be asked to provide their name and/or contact information before making a comment. All comments, concerns, and questions are welcomed from the public.

2018 Bordentown City Zoning Map

The City of Bordentown Planning and Zoning Board functions as a combined Board and consists of a total of nine (9) members including the Mayor and two (2) alternates. Members of the Board are volunteer residents appointed by the Mayor and consist of members designated as Chair, Vice-Chair and two Alternate members. A Board Attorney, Township Engineer and Board Secretary make up the professional staff who assist the members of the Planning and Zoning Board. The powers, duties and regulations of the Planning and Zoning Board are contained in the Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL).

Contacting the Planning and Zoning Board Secretary is your first step when considering any alterations or construction to your home, property, etc. as she can guide you as to the process that will be necessary for compliance with the Zoning Ordinances of the City of Bordentown.

When considering alterations and renovations to your existing home or the construction of a new home, the Bordentown City Environmental Commission and Green Team ask both homeowners and prospective homeowners to pick up one of their Brochures Green Building Brochure Rev. Aug. 2022 and take a few moments to learn how you can “Green” your home.
